Hi all, not visited for some time, hope all are well:
Doing some spring cleaning I came across an image I have still not determined. My first thought was Asilidae, but the only near match I could come up with in Stubbs & Drake was a Therevidae; Thereva nobilitata. I would welcome any comments and help. Found on chalk downland in Wiltshire on 29-06-05.
TIA.
Steve.

Asilidae. Post in the appropriate forum. This is quite distinctive.
