I've been browsing the gallery trying to id this Asilidae and this picture http://www.dipter...oto_id=651 looks very similar to the one I attach with this message, but the antenna and feet colour are different. Does any one know it is really a Diogmites? And if so, any ideas on specific id? Photo taken by Miguel Ángel Fuentes on 19/7/2008 at Girona (Catalonia) Thanks in advance, Aleix Comas aleix attached the following image: [45.65Kb] Edited by aleix on 15-12-2008 00:21 |

Aleix, This fly from Catalonia must be a Stenopogon sp. (though I don't know which one). Diogmites is strictly an American genus (most species being Neotropical). Regards, Eric |
