It looks like a female Platycheirus, very probably P. scutatus.

Thanks for that Stephane. The guy on my local website had it down as P.albimanus which I thought was wrong. If this is P.scutatus it is only the second record for Shetland, and the first since June 1993. Regards Roger  |
