Found this little thing wandering around in my garden shed. Approx 1.5-2mm in length. Anyone put a name to it?

Thanks Brian
The only member of Pscodidae on my checklist is Amphigerontia bifasciata (Latr.) so I'll tick it off as that.

I think it would be rather rash to assume any psocopteran found on Shetland is the same species as previously. They are a very under-recorded group. From memory, Amphigerontia have patterned wings, whereas yours has no wings at all. Bob Saville at Fife Local Records Centre is the British expert so you could send the picture to him.

Got a reply from Bob Saville with the bad news (for me)that it is Lepinotus patruelis, (take that smug look off your face John, I can feel it from up here). The good news is it isn't on my Checklist.
Regards Roger
