Hello! When I do not remember the size exactly any more, I am getting problems of distinguishing Phaonia valida from other, smaller species. I think the rather big (12 mm) fly in this post is P. valida, right? Are the two in the postings below P. angelicae. They were smaller - if I remember correctly...  . All photos from September-18 to 21, at a hedge, northwest Germany.

Yes, that's regular for female Helina impuncta, as for slightly darkened crossveins (my specimens are like this too).
