Found on 10 sept Giethoorn (Netherlands) sice 7mm

Radial note is setulose and prosternum is haired
So I think it could be Morellia simplex female

But I'm always confused whit the pd ad av etc....
There are (what I can see) 2 av and a row of ad...
And then it is not Morellia simplex..Sad

Where do I go wrong ?

M1+2 is too bent for any Morellia. It is Musca.

Ohh...and hmmm...Grin

I think is must be M. autumnalis.......but is the M.autumnalis female, the only Musca whit radial note setulose...??
I looked at the male of M.autumnalis and there are no hairs on the radial note...
And there is no notice of it in the Key of F.Gregor,R.Roxkosny,M.Bartak and J.Vanhara

Joke, for help with the legs chaetotaxy, I can propose you this little article I made :
http://www.insect...?article60 (it is in french, but you'll just need to click on the picture to understand).

Musca have some setuale on radial node (sometimes very minute or just on underside of wing). If you tell that this one has hairy propleuron, it has to be M. domestica. Parafrontaliae should be then less than 1/2 of frontal vitta width.

Thats where I look for !!!!!!!!!! FinallyGrin

And there are no hairs on the propleuron...and the parafrontaliae is 1/2 to a little bit more of the frontal vitta.
So I can presume it is a M. autumnalis ?

And I wil look though my other Musca as well , for control !!

Many thanks Joke
