 Large hairy syrphid in wood

Hello! This afternoon I found this big fly here in Ostwestfalen/Germany in a dedicious wood resting on a tree. When it came flying I first thought it was a bumble bee, but when it sat down it became clear that is was dipteran. But what species? It does not really resemble a Volucella bombylans, can it be Criorhina ranunculi (I have never seen that before)? Thanks in advance! I do not have a "Red List" of Syrphidae for Germany, nor Northrhine Westfalia, only for the neigbouring Lower Saxony. There it is listed as category 2, "stark gef?hrdet" (heavily endangered), but because of newer finds to be listed as 3 (endangered) in the future. Hello, xylo! Thank you very much! I do participate in their Lepidoptera monitoring and did not notice the redlist section yet... ;-). I didn't know that there is a Syrphid redlist for the whole of Germany (unfortunately not for my regional state).
