Hello!

Rather bigger sized (~10-12mm) fly on oak log in Hungary. I vote for Muscid. Which species is it?

Hmm.. In my photos, Graphomyia has very dark (almost black) femur and tibia whereas the legs of this questionable fly seem rather pale red coloured. Moreover, Graphomyia has a very conspicuous black spotted pattern on its abdomen which I can't see on this fly. I am not as experienced as you of course (or I am not experienced at allShock) so I must accept your determination!!Wink
