Found at home two days ago, in Hong Kong.
Any idea about what family it belongs to?
Body length about 8mm

Xylomyidae, possibly a Solva species.

Do their mouth parts resemble house flies rather than horse flies?
I previously thought that all members of Tabanomorpha have scimitar-like mandibles.

They are close to Stratiomyidae and these have 'fleshy' mouthparts, not 'piercing' ones.
