I reared this ichneumonid(?) from a Zygaena trifolii pupa. What species can it be?

location: Salreu, Portugal
date: 03/06/2008

Note: the wasp seems to be full of eggs. That is strange because it has recently emergedShock.

Is it not possible to tell the genus or at least confirm the familySad?

I'd go as far as to say superfamily Ichneumonoidea, family Ichneumonidae... but that's where I get scared Wink and I wouldn't like to say if it was subfamily Ichneumoninae, Cryptinae or Banchinae... they are just too difficult and there is nothing very distinctive about this insect. Even if you had a good specimen and all the best keys (and there aren't keys for *big* groups) then you probably would spend hours trying to get a name for it Sad
