9th June 2008. Malaga, south Spain. Size: about 4 mm. Habitat: exclusively in the inflorescences of Cynara humilis, a big thistle. In very big numbers in these flowers.![]() ![]() Can be identified? Thanks. Regards |

Looks to be a Terellia ex serratulae complex, or maybe even simply T. serratulae L.. I cannot say from a male: the species characters are conncted to ovipositor... It could be a male of T. longicauda Mg., which is on the other your picture as well. Edited by Nosferatumyia on 05-09-2008 05:27 Val |

Yes, in many cases if Urophora, Chaetorellia and Terellia the differences between males are insignificant...
