Hello!

I am absolutely not sure about this one, my first guess was that it might be a syrphid but I do not know indeed. Photo was taken in Hungary at montane region in a meadow near a wood. (9th of May 2008)

Indeed Syrphidae, Cheilosia albitarsis / ranunculi.

With a wingvenation like this, it's always a Syrphid and nothing else... Smile
