 Conopidae is right. I think Physocephala rufipes. You can check some of the images in the Diptera Gallery -> Conopidae. I think I can still add few images of Physocephala for Gerard tomorrow.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
