Is it possible to know the species of these Medetera specimens? And, if you could ID the prey on the 2nd photo, it would be nice too  .location: Barcelos, Portugal date: 08/05/2008    |

Hi, Rui, can't help with the Medetera, but the prey item is a grass aphid, probably Atheroides serrulatus which is very widespread throughout Europe. They are great photos, Sue  |

Rui, these are Medetera truncorum group of species including also Medetera dendrobaena Kowarz and Medetera saxatilis Collin. You should catch male and make picture of hypopygium. Regards Igor Grichanov |
