 Camargue fly (dolichopodidae, Hydrophorus ?)

This couple was on the sand along a brackish water pond in Camargue, France (La Capeli?re), on April 2nd 2008. There were many more but it was hard coming within photographing distance. Approx 8 mm. Dolichopodidae, perhaps ? Thanks for your help Philippe PS Flamingos were all over the place there.... Thanks Jorge and Tony; I had spotted Hydrophorus in the gallery too, because of the habitat and the rather long wings for a dolichopodidae. But as the example there is from Senegal and I have no clue whether the genus is present or not in Europe, I did not even suggest it... ??? Philippe |
