I found this Tachina on the last 4th of April feeding in flowers in Barcelos, Portugal. What species could it be?    |

It's a Tachina sp. and part of the 'fera group' but I wouldn't like to comment on an identification that far south in Europe - there are other very similar species down there  |

Robert, in Iberia it is Tachina fera as well. Look at the reddish tarsi, just visible on the second pic. Theo |

Joke - Peleteria have strong bristles between the lower edge of the eye and the vibrissae but Tachina do not (as in this one). |
