Hi everyone! Front and middle tarsi look rather black (except the pulvilli), so is it Tachina magnicornis? Approx. 12 mm long. 31. July 2026, Austria, Zell am See District, above Dießbach-Stausee water reservoir, about 1500 m a.s.l., coordinates approx. 47.50787, 12.84847 Rupert Huber attached the following image: ![]() [187.34Kb] Best greetings Rupert |

Hello Rupert, it's a female... But the fore tarsi are black, the abdominal median stripe ends broadened on the 5th tergite - that supports T. magnicornis. Is the 4th tarsomere of the fore tarsus distinctly broader than long? Hard to see. Greetings, Eric |

Thanks Eric! On pics 2 and 4 it looks like it might be broader, but not very distinctly. But the perspective is not a perfect one, of course. I checked the rest of my pictures, too, but there is no better among them. Best greetings Rupert |
