Ansbach, 2026-05-12, at an insect font in garden near old deciduous forest in Frankenhoehe Nature Park
Is it a female Admontia seria?

EDIT No, it's Blondelia nigripes

Female Admontia have strongly flattened frontal tarsi.
This is a female Blondelia nigripes.

Thank you Theo - this time tachinidae.eu led me to Admontia while a resembling one (same place nearly same date) is filed as Blondelia nigripes. Checking the reason why Blondelia disappeared in my interpreted key I found "2 dc pre" on/off.

btw: Cerretti (2010): I tachinidi della fauna italiana says about A. seria: "Femmina: tarso anteriore stretto" (female's fore tars narrow)?

Greetings, Eric

Yes. I would never use this world (at least, not according to the translation).
I would say 'flattened'
By the way, basal thickened part of arista is longer in Admontia than in Blondelia, which also makes you (me) reject Admontia instantly.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply, Theo, and the very useful information to reject Admontia if in doubt. As you said some time ago: "All tachinids are grey but some are more grey than others." And these are very grey!
Greetings, Eric

Always nice to be confronted with your own slogans.
