First flies of the year 2008

This thread intends to make a register of the sightings of the first flies of the year.

PORTUGAL


Bombyliidae

- 20th March 2008 (IN Viseu - spotted by Jorge Almeida, the first was Bombylius cf. undatus)
- 16th March 2008 (IN Barcelos - spotted by Andrade, the first was Bombylius sp. (?) )


Conopidae

- 20th March 2008 (IN Viseu - spotted by Jorge Almeida, the first was Myopa cf. palliceps (=minor) )


Empididae

- 20th March 2008 (IN Viseu - spotted by Jorge Almeida, the first was Rhamphomyia sp.)


Tachinidae

- 9th March 2008, maybe it was sighted on 2nd March 2008 (IN Viseu - spotted by Jorge Almeida, the first was Wagneria sp.)
- 8th March 2008 (IN Barcelos - spotted by Andrade, the first was Medina collaris)
