We have about 300 new photos on www.galerie.hymis.de. Thanks a lot to all, who contributed to the site.

Also, there is a new funktion. You can now see all photos of a choosen family or genus together. So reserach for a special species is easier.

About a Hymenoptera forum: we will not realize it. The reason is first, that I have no time to manage a whole forum, and second, that there are not so much Hymenoptera photos to fill a own forum. Also, we have some good forums in Germany and international, and I will not split the forums any more.

My suggestion is to post Hymenoptera photos in Juergen's forum (http://insektenfotos.de/forum/), when wasp and bee photos are to much for diptera.info. Juergen's forum is a good forum, and you also may use the English language there.

My best regards to all, and I wish you a good season 2008,
Christian

Sad news. A pity about the forum, but if Juergen will let us "english speaking" use it I guess it's better than nothing. I wonder though if the Hymenoptera experts are attracted to visit a generic insect forum. I doubt it.

No reason to run a forum on your own, unless you want it (like Paul). I'm sure there would be willing moderators to help out.

I also doubt there are less Hymenoptera photos than Diptera dittos.

BTW. The URL in your sig doesn't work.

Hi,

I support crex. although I'll try to use Juergen's forum ( hard to understand non english interface) I think english forum will attract lots of Hymenoptera photos.

Again about the amount of photos. If it hadn't been for diptera.info, I doubt I had taken any diptera photos at all and maybe no macros. I think some users here even have been starting to collect flies as they learnt more and more about diptera on the forum ... so don't underestimate the importance of a dedicated site.
