Would be nice to say Gonia spp. were comen here in the UK ... I have never caught one  Theo, would you say they are rarer in the north here? |

They are more common in less occupied regions. Gonia larvae parasite Noctuidae living on grass roots. So they are more or less restricted to grasslands on sandy or chalky soils (dunes included). Too much tourism seems to harm them, given my observations in The Netherlands. They prevert the relatively more quiet meadows. Theo |

Interesting. I think that must be the case here because they seem to be recorded in more remote areas and I have had a report that a few localities in the south have disappeared - perhaps due to disturbance. |
