This fly was collected in a malaise trap in my garden in Lier, close to Oslo, Norway August 24. The environment is mixed forest and a different flowers in my insect-friendly garden. I have photographed it with camera on Wemacro automated rail up to 10x magnification. The fly was identified to be Siba fumosa by Artsorakelet (https://orakel.artsdatabanken.no/). I have checked the key on the Loncheidae Onliine site and believe that Silba with its only species fumosa is correct. I zoomed in on the katepisternum to see the two strong setae. There are only a few observations from Norway, most of them determined by Iain MacGowan. I hope that this one can be confirmed to be Silba fumosa.

I find it so difficult to adapt high-resolution pictures to this website, that I have to refer you to my own website to see them: https://www.jenyg...nsettfluer |
