Ansbach, 2025-07-20, garden near old deciduous forest in Frankenhoehe Nature Park This fly was very patient with the photographer (or greedy) and allowed lots of images. Knowing that it's a difficult genus, nevertheless I've found 3 significant characteristics after T&H key + translation by Rotraut Rayner & Chris Raper to think it's a male Leucostoma anthracinum! What do you think? Parafrontalia and hairy part of the cheeks clearly more faintly dusted than the hairless part of the cheeks: eklans attached the following image: ![]() [59.44Kb] |
