Hi, This small fly, a few millimeters long, can regularly be found on the railing of a wooden bridge crossing a small swamp formed by a creek in south-eastern Berlin. It shows blue-greenish luster at certain angles and the arista base looks a bit swollen and segmented. I thought of Limnophora and saw pictures labeled L. triangula with that tinge and arista in the internet. The markings on the abdomen would also fit, and there are 3 postsutural dc. How safe is this ID? Thanks for any comments! Regards, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: ![]() [255.39Kb] |
