Hi everyone! I found this on a picture of Cordulegaster boltonii. Is it still so, that Forcipomyia paludis is the only Ceratopogonidae species parasitising on dragonfly wings in Europe, or are there meanwhile known others, too? 19.6.2025, Germany, Upper Bavaria, Kohlstatt near Bergen, northern slope of Mt. Hochfelln, about 800 m a.s.l., coordinates 47.77511,12.55511 Rupert Huber attached the following image: ![]() [152.91Kb] Edited by Rupert Huber on 20-06-2025 20:37 Best greetings Rupert |

I think Forcipomyia (Pterobosca) paludis is the only species of the subgenus in Europe. |

Some species of subgenus Lasiohelea are also parasitic on Odonata. I do not know if any of those species are found in Europe. Most species are parasitic on vertebrates. My local species bites frogs. |

Thanks again! They don't seem to be on Odanata in Europe. At least I can't find anything reporting this.
