Hello, Maybe someone can tell me what species this is? I found them both in the garden today mating on a dandelion blossom. Kind regards, Volkmar Find data: Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia, D-59821 Arnsberg, 235 m, 27.4.2025. Volkmar attached the following image: ![]() [275.88Kb] Edited by Volkmar on 27-04-2025 12:12 |

I think it's Osmia bicornis: female with black last tergites and cornuta's male abldomen is red.

I'm not entirely sure about bicornis, maybe it's cornuta after all, I see two little horns on the female's head, what do you think? The male's abdomen isn't red enough for me, and doesn't necessarily look faded either. Volkmar attached the following image: ![]() [121.79Kb] Edited by Volkmar on 27-04-2025 18:53 |
