Hello, In the south of France on April 16, 2025. The insect measures 10 mm long from the eyes to the wingtips. I didn't know that Limoniidae lay their eggs in the soil after rain, and I just learned this by observing it. But what do the larvae eat in the soil? Thank you for your help with the identification.
