Hi,
today I found this fly in a park in Germany, Saxony. It allowed only a single photo. Is the fly a Criorhina ranunculi and is it a male or a female?
Greetings,
Marion

Hi Marion, I think Criorhina ranunculi is correct and it seems to be a female (distinctly large dusted area between the eyes).
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner
