Hello there !

Not easy to find who was this little guy found on May the first of 2021 waiting for me gently at my door at home in Montferrer, deep south of France. Alt. 775m, and body length is about 4 or 5mm. I think I finally found it in your Tephritidae gallery and guess he's a male of Hemilea pulchella ?

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks a lot.

Apparently, current name would be H. dimidiata and not H. pulchella ?

Hemilea dimidiata (Costa, 1844) is a valid name.
Use of H. dimidiata was based on misidentification and currently is abandoned

Ok, thank you very much Val.

Can you just ,please, confirm that correct genus is Hemilea or you didn't miswrote and the actual genus is Hemiea ?

And so, maybe the three pictures of Hemilea in the Tephritidae gallery should be renamed in H. dimidiata ?

Regards.

Cédric
