Hello,

I photographed this fly in Sant'Anna di Vinadio (CN), Italy, 2000m a.s.l. on August 19th 2024. I think it is a Cylindromyia, but is it possible to identify its species based on these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

A female C. intermedia? (2 pv on tibia 3, scutellar apicals crossed and I think I see the posterior sa - setola sopra-alare - and no hairs between dc and ia/sa)

The setae you are referring to are actually pds, atvleast that is the way I see it.
Intermedia nearly always has thrid antennal segmnet at base.
To me, this is a female brassicaria, marginals on tergite 4 supports this.

Of course you see it correctly, Theo TumbsUp The sa and hairs nearby were not clearly visible and I've ignored the partly yellow antenna, sorry Emanuele and thanks a lot once more, Theo!
