Hi Karsten That's correct I forgot about it. However I did study this fly again and the anterior anepisternum is bare which will not add up with P nigritarsis which have pilose anterior anepisternum. Now I think it's (just) a Syrphus torvus. Would you agree with this? Thanks Jógvan F |

Hi, This last picture shows the long hairs on the dorsal surface of the squama that characterises Syrphus species. It is the most clear on the one right. Together with the hairy eyes this looks like S. torvus indeed. Best, Jonne |
