Hello,

I photographed this fly in Campo Imperatore (AQ), Italy, 1760m a.s.l. on June 18th 2024. I think it is a Rhinophoridae, but I'm not completely sure about that. Is it possible to identify its genus or species based on these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

It is either a very weird Tachinidae or a Sarc like Brachycoma.
I lean towards the second one. In any case, very fresh specimen, which does not help the ID.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
