Photographed a couple of days ago (2024-IX-11) in Zhejiang China. Observed on the blade of large crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis). Could they be female Agromyzidae with their eggs (as arrow-marked)? Thanks in advance!

Probably a new species of the genus Pseudonapomyza, many species are still undescribed. According to von Tschirnhaus the droplets are not eggs, which in all Agromyzidae are placed into small flat pouches under the epidermis, excavated by the female ovipositor. The eggs are whitish and longer than wide. Could be droplets of excrements (dark) or actively ingested and afterwards spit out or lost bubbles of liquid food (2nd photo left; amber-coloured).

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
