Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me identify this very dark crane fly type insect?
I photographed 2 individuals on June 6th 2018 by the Nethy river, Nethy Bridge, Scottish Highlands.
There were 6 flies actively patrolling a somewhat shaded area of sandy and gravelly shore just west of the village.
