I found a male Gonomyia in my garden in the Netherlands. Here the picture of the genitalia in situ and prepared and somewhat flattened. Can someone advise me what aspects of the genitalia differntiate best between Gonomyia dentata and G. tenella?

Without being able to manipulate the specimen and see the genitalia at slightly different angle I would tend twoards G. tenella. You can compare images of the genitala on Catalogue of the Craneflies of the World. Use https://ccw.natur...vanced.php and search for Gonomyia and restrict to European species.
