I saw a beautiful Phoridae today in Biezenmortel, the Netherlands. It had very long bristles on the costa. Any ideas?

Hello Niels-Jan, I don't know much about Phoridae but found drawings of wings in Disney (1989): Scuttle flies, Genus Megaselia. The wing of M. hortensis looks very similar to those of your fly.

Thanks Eric. I see now there are more species in Megaselia with these kind of bristles so for now, I will keep it as cf. Megaselia spec.

I checked the key to the Phoridae genera in Disney (1983), Handbooks for the Identification of British Insects. I am unfamiliar with Phoridae, but I think I arrive at Megaselia. The tergites seems to be normal, although a bit damaged?
