Hi,

today I observed a larger Bombyliidae that took an interest in one of our insect shelters. I believe it could be Anthrax anthrax since size and habitus seems to be a good match. Is that correct, or are there other possibilities?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Garden in Munich (-West), insect shelter, 15.05.2024, app. 12 mm

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
