A Ceratopogonid fly on my balcony. It has a very distinctive pattern on the thorax, so maybe there is a possibility to reach genus level. Any idea? Maybe some strange Dasyhelea? ¡Saludos! My first impression is Ceratopogonini. In Dasyhelea the male flagellomeres are not cylindrical and as far as I know the wing is unmarked. |

There is also a group of Culicoides with that black spot near the radial cell. |
