This fly was sitting on my garagedoor 3rd Februari 2024. Temperature +6C. Location just outside Stockholm Sweden.
The fly was more or less black without that much of contrast so the images are not of a great quality

Many thanks John for pointing me in the right direction - Muscidae.

After looking at a British key I believe that it could be an Azeliinae but not sure about that.
I will publish a few additional photos that possibly might clarify that?

The specimen has been checked by an expert and it is a female of Hebecnema nigra
