Agromyzidae, Phytomyza crassiseta Zetterstedt, 1860, together with Phytomyza plantaginis the only thelytokous parthenogenetic leafminer flies, triploid strains occur. Palaearctic, Oriental, Nearctic, Neotropic (from Argenina only 97 females are known from six localities); host plant genera Veronica and Hebe; the thickened black palpus and widened arista are typical features. 405 publications dealing with this species are listed in the forthcoming database "World Agromyzidae Online",
