Hello,

I photographed this fly in Val Udai (TN), Italy, 2000m a.s.l. on August 2nd 2023. I think it is a Muscoidea, but I'm not sure if it's a Muscidae or an Anthomyiidae. Is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
