Photographed a couple of days ago near a river in Zhejiang China. Muscoidea? Possible to narrow down a little bit? Thanks!

I do not have much experience with Muscoidea and thus I now agree with the specialist.

Thank you for suggesting the possibility of Lispocephala! Unfortunately I managed to capture onlythis one single shot before it flew away. But I'll try and take more photos if I can chance upon it again.

The second fly is a different Muscidae. Note the more numerous fronto-orbital bristles. The haired parafacial is found in genus Lispe, at least.

I usually agree with John, this time too. Really similar, but different.
And if it is Lispe (99%), than it is L. pygmaea, compare with https://diptera.info/photogallery.php?photo_id=8978
Zhejiang China is at 30N, winter time. I collected L. pygmaea in Beijing, in Egypt, in Ethiopia (at 11.325N 39.688E). L. pygmaea comfortably lives in Hawaii. Oahu. Why not in Zhejiang China???

Wow, it looks almost identical to the fly in Nikita's link! This even reminded me of the curious word "doppoganger"! Really cool! Thank you both of you! TumbsUp
