Hi all,

I identified this Phoridae from Heelsum, the Netherlands (coll. 18-06-2023) as Megaselia badia using DNA (soft lysis). That's a species not known to occur in the Netherlands though, and many Megaselia species lack DNA references, so could someone help pointing me towards ways of confirming this identification? I tried to image the inside of the hind femur which, according to Disney's guide should look like the attached image.. not sure though!

Thanks for any help

Marcel
