I photographed this Muscid c8mm coming and going from Sulphur tuft fungi in damp woodland in Gloucestershire, UK on 22.10.23. I'm pretty sure its Phaonia subventa whose larvae are predators of fungus feeding larvae. I thunk I can separate it form the very similar P. rufiventris as there are 2 clear spines midway along the mid tibia, rather than 3. The acrostichial bristles are hard to see in my photos, but I think there are 2 rows, not one as in P. rufiventris. I'm no expert, so hope someone can confirm or correct my ID.
