Hello, These animals flew into a window pane of a building in Austria, Carinthia on August 10, 2023. There was a light source nearby. Which group do they belong to and can they be identified further? Hello Heiko, it belongs to the Ceratopogonidae, it's a male and I guess it could be a Forcipomyia brevipennis.

Hello Eric, wow, I didn't think you could identify the animal so precisely. Thank you so much, Eric! Best regards, Heiko http://www.tiersi... |
