Hello, I found this fly near the Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania, 1200m a.s.l. on February 20th 2023. I think it's a Tachinidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos? Unfortunately I didn't collect the specimen as I didn't have the equipment to properly store it, so I limited myself to taking the photos and returning it to the ant I stole it from. Do you think it's possible to pinpoint at least the subfamily based on these pictures? |

Probably Exoristinae based on the hairy eyes and strong first post-sutural supra-alar bristle. The other possibility is Tachininae. Dexiinae and Phasiinae are unlikely. |
