Hi, A few days ago I took a picture of a shiny green fly on a leaf of Fallopia japonica. Originally, I thought this could be Lucilia sp., but I have never seen one with a red forehead. Is that really the correct genus/family and/or is a narrower determination possible ? Hello Uli, it's very likely a female Lucilia sericata. The frontal vitta is red because the fly is fresh and not completely sclerotised yet.
