Hi, On 10th November, 1922, I came across several fungus gnats on a bunch of mushrooms (Armillaria, I suppose), growing on the base of an old apple tree. It got already dark, and the pictures are not the best, I'm afraid. I photographed a male with an impressive genital and a female that may belong to the same species according to the resembling wing venation. The bristles on the hind tibiae are short and thin, so Mycetophila is off the table. What about Exechiopsis? I appreciate any help, also with my other Mycetophilidae threads (#1-4). Thanks in advance, Sundew This is the male: Sundew attached the following image: [225.61Kb] |
