This tachinid fly was in the greenhouse. Bergen NH, The Netherlands June 27. It resembles most an insecure Nilea hortulana, which I had photographed in 2009 when I look at my photos. where did you find this ? It is a female Blepharipa pratensis. Almost all records are male Theo |

Thanks Theo. So after all a Blepharipa pratensis!!. Usually I recognize them. I see them every year in the part of the garden with, among other things, berry bushes under a big birch (I have a small greenhouse there, where I check every day whether any nice insects have flown in. That's where I found this fly). Every now and then I send a photo to Observation. But usually leave them alone. Here is this fly https://waarnemin...278265876/ I took a look at all my flies. All have been males so far indeed except for my first Blepharipa pratensis in 2009.
