a 3-4 mm fly on low vegetation near a small rivulet (northwest Germany).

perhaps Platypezidae? Lonchaeidae never have holoptic eyes

Hallo Jürgen, from what I see it could be the male Polyporivora ornata.

So I still have to wait for the first Lonchaeid this year (there was no Earomiya lonchaeoides this spring and still no Silba fumosa).
